All Signs Point to M3D

We’re excited to announce that Memora has found a new home in Detroit at the beautifully renovated Saint Vincent Corktown. This former middle school has been given a new lease on life as a thriving community of creatives, making it the perfect place for us to set up our studio in Room #103.

It’s hard to believe that just last winter, Saint Vincent was without heat or water. The building had been vandalized by scrappers looking for plumbing, leaving it in a state of disrepair. But today, the first floor has been transformed into a fully functional and rentable office space. The former classrooms, old library, and even the principal’s office have been converted into spacious offices and studios for several new tenants.

Saint Vincent was originally designed to house hundreds of middle school students, not professionals. However, the renovation has successfully transformed the dark, utilitarian aesthetic into a more open and industrial feel. The linoleum tiles have been removed to reveal the beautiful concrete underneath, while the drop ceilings have been taken down and bright accent colors added to break up the white paint.

The second floor renovation will begin in the spring, once the weather has warmed up. In the meantime, efforts are underway to create a common lounge space and event area in a former classroom on the first floor. Additionally, Saint Vincent’s old lockers are also set to receive a revamp.

At Memora, we believe that our environment plays a critical role in our ability to be creative and productive. That’s why we’re thrilled to be a part of the Saint Vincent Corktown community. Our new studio is not only a beautiful space to work in, but it’s also surrounded by a diverse group of professionals who are passionate about what they do. We can’t wait to see what new ideas and collaborations will emerge from this vibrant community.

If you’re in the area, we invite you to come see us in Room #103 at Saint Vincent Corktown. We can’t wait to show you our new space and all the exciting projects we’re working on.
